Ashleigh Kennealy

Captivating audiences since childhood, Ashleigh Kennealy has built a career that refuses to fit neatly into one box. An actor, vocalist, musician, songwriter, and live entertainer, she has performed across theatre, film, television, live music, and concert stages throughout California.

With extensive professional and collegiate training in acting, voice, movement, improvisation, and musical theatre, including a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from UC San Diego, Ashleigh brings versatility, authenticity, and an unmistakable energy to every performance.

Her theatrical work includes her acclaimed portrayal of Maureen Johnson in RENT with Conundrum Theatre Company, which earned her a 2023 BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Regional Award nomination for Best Supporting Performer in a Musical. Most recently, she returned to the theatre as an ensemble member in the workshop and staged reading of the new musical Budapest, Budapest at New Village Arts' Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Music has become an increasingly prominent part of Ashleigh's career. Her experience includes performing with San Diego punk cover band Sideshow, Bay Area cover band Stepback, and San Diego original metal band Door 13. She currently performs with San Diego Party Band, delivering high-energy three-hour sets of '90s and 2000s rock favorites, and is providing vocals for 2000s recording artist Papercut Massacre. She is also writing and recording her first solo album as an indie-rock artist.

Her next adventure takes her beyond the West Coast music circuit as she joins Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady for a five-month performance contract. As a lead vocalist and pianist, Ashleigh will bring her rock roots to sea through two RockShowKe performances each voyage, celebrating everything from classic rock to the music of the '90s and beyond.

Across her career, Ashleigh has received recognition from film and musical theatre festivals and academic institutions for excellence in performance, musicianship, work ethic, and contribution to her craft.

From a new musical workshop to a packed rock show, from the recording studio to a stage at sea, Ashleigh continues to build a career around what she does best: connecting with an audience through fearless, energetic, and authentic performance.

After spending a "gap year" mid-college in Los Angeles, Ashleigh has acquired both professional and college training in acting, voice, and movement, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre with Honors, working and learning alongside MFA students at the acclaimed UC San Diego School of Theatre and Dance.
